ELK COUNTY (WTAJ) — The St. Marys Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual fireworks celebration July 3, and are still seeking $3,000 in donations to reach its yearly goal of $16,000.

“Every ounce of money we get in terms of donations for the fireworks is spent 100% on the fireworks. We do not make profit off of these fireworks, that’s never been the goal. It’s a community display,” St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce Board President Andrew Mohney said.

The Chamber of Commerce relies on the community to help provide the fireworks for the event every year.

“We have donation cans set out all throughout the community for people just to go visit those businesses and drop a couple of dollars in that can,” Office Administrator Rebecca Glatt said.
