Bandmates Dylan Minnette , Braeden Lemasters , and Cole Preston dive into their new set of songs, explaining how they feel the new project is a direct response to their 2022 effort Tell Me That It's Over , with themes of heartbreak and infatuation weaved throughout the tracklist.

“With this record,” Cole shared, “we actively wanted to approach it differently than we did our last. Tell Me That It’s Over … we did sort of sporadically over 10, 11 months. Worked on it sort of a little bit at a time, really spent a lot of time on each song, kind of over-thinking, trying stuff… and that yielded something cool for us, and something different. But we then, going into our third record, reacted to that and were like ‘okay, let’s try and do this quick, let’s do a lot of songs, let’s not overthink.’ More lean and mean compared to last time.”

Delving into the themes weaved throughout the tracklist. When asked if it is an album of heartbreak or infatuation, all three agreed it’s “both.”

“There’s songs that lean in a heartbreak direction for sure,” Dylan noted, “but then there’s a lot of songs that I wrote a lot of lyrics that definitely are mostly involved with infatuation and being in love and falling in love.” Settling that the record leans more on the “optimistic side.”

The trio also revealed that some of the best songs they wrote this go around didn't even make the album, but Dylan promise d“it makes sense,” and that “our fans will hear those songs.”  They also reminisced on covering The Strokes b-sides, and paying homage to *NSYNC , that turned into embodying the rock energy of T. Rex .
