'I cut up my wedding dress at the reception to make it easier to dance in - I don't regret it'

Most people would be mortified if they saw someone taking scissors to their wedding dress . A woman on TikTok planned it.

In a bold move, one bride decided to transform her wedding dress into a reception outfit by cutting it short.

Kristina, known as @kristina0194 on TikTok, posted a video showing her dancing in her elegant white gown . The strapless number has a deep neckline, lace down the bodice and a tool train.

Then, a guest snipped the bottom off with scissors, turning it into a knee-length cocktail dress with a raw hem.

She captioned the video: "Skip the 2nd dress, cut your own."

The clip sparked mixed reactions from viewers.

One commenter expressed a desire to preserve their own wedding dress for sentimental reasons, saying: "Sooo am I the only one who wants to keep my dress that I paid A LOT of [money] for so I can get photos of my kids trying it on and maybe they want to wear it for their day? ....that not a thing anymore? "

Kristina addressed this by stating: "You can totally keep it! It's everyone's personal preference. I just knew I wanted to do it so I did it."

Another viewer remarked on the apparent tension among the guests during the transformation, commenting, "All the guests looked sooooooo stressed."

A supportive comment suggested dyeing the dress for future use, to which Kristina responded with her intentions: "I'm getting it hemmed professionally and will wear it for anniversaries."
