As rumors spread about Hollywood agents looking to sign 'Hawk Tuah' girl - she's already capitalizing on her newfound fame as a meme star by selling $65,000 worth of merch with her catchprase.

Whether it's Facebook, Instagram, TikTok , or YouTube , you will have seen either a meme, GIF, or short video of her saying, "You gotta spit on that thang." The "hawk tuah" is a reference to the spitting action she delivered that really seemed to resonate with viewers.

And now, as she's already launched a merch line, Rolling Stone was first to report that her hats have already raised $65,000 in profits.

Rumors of her signing deals with Hollywood agents are circulating thanks to TMZ , who now says that Hailey Welch is the center of tons of rumors that she may have launched herself, as UTA (United Talent Agency) denies signing her.

Her relationship advice came during a risqué street interview with Tim & Dee TV , where one of her responses went on to become mega-viral. What followed was a million memes and a global search for her identity. And shortly after she became a worldwide sensation, she was revealed as Hailey Welch, from Nashville, Tennessee.

Since then, the internet's been a non-stop buzz. She also got caught up in a rumor that she'd been fired from her job as a preschool teacher.

She may not have quite made it to Hollywood or been sacked from her job, but what she does have is a merch deal with the Tennessee-based hat company Fathead Threads. And all the rumors have reportedly helped her sell at least $65,000 worth of hats labeled "Hawk Tuah '24" - some of which she's signed.

Though that brand is the one with the 'official deal,' fans of the crudely hilarious term can find plenty of merch made my private sellers, and even some from interviewers Tim & Dee. There's even one with Rosie the Riveter encouraging others to 'Hawk Tuah.'

The thing about viral sensations is that if you can make something believable enough about the subject, then that too can go viral on its coat tails. In this instance a viral post from a Facebook page called the Tippah County Tribune claimed the "hawk tuah girl" was Hailey Wellington of Ripley, Mississippi, and that she had been fired from her job as a preschool teacher.

According to the post, Carla Reed, the Director of Epstein Day School, released a statement addressing the incident. “We have kids spitting on each other and everything else since they heard their beloved Miss Hailey say 'spit on that thang' on YouTube. They really look up to her as a role model and imitate the things that she does.

"We love Hailey but unfortunately we cannot allow this type of behavior from one of our very own faculty members." The post even had a response from 'Hailey' stating: "What I said during that interview was based on my own personal thoughts. I was giving good advice to those who might want to have a little fun. I have the right to share my life experiences if I choose to do so. It has nothing to do with the kind of teacher I am for my kids. It is outright discrimination and I plan to seek retribution against the preschool."

However, what some readers failed to spot was that the Tippah County Tribune is a self-proclaimed satire site and, therefore, definitely not true.

We know that she is cashing in on her catchphrase, but not a lot else. Hailey has partnered with Tennessee-based hat company Fathead Threads to sell her own line of hats after being identified by OutKick .

But as far as finding out more about Hailey's back story is concerned, that remains elusive. While a number of accounts have appeared on the likes of Instagram, with variants of her name claiming to be her, finding out more about the real Hailey remains a work in progress.
