Zack's Chat: Crawford 100 returns … in a new format

BUCYRUS — At long last, the Crawford 100 is returning!

But it's going to look a little bit different the first six weeks. Rather than start at 100 (and honorable mentions) and count down to the No. 1 male and female athletes, we're going to give each school in Crawford County its own installment before looking at the Top-20 boys and girls.

The end result will be the same, the path we're taking is the only thing changing.

Every Friday starting this week up to August 2nd we'll take a look at 10 returning athletes — and occasionally some on the cusp or primed for a breakout this year — for each school starting with Buckeye Central, followed by Bucyrus, then Colonel Crawford, Crestline, Galion, and ending with Wynford.

From there, the first full week of August will be jam-packed with Crawford 100 content alternating 10 boys and 10 girls on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before a special edition on August 11 that will feature stories about the No. 1 male and No. 1 female athletes, along with announcing the No. 1 team returning in the Crawford 12.

Oh yeah, that will run each Sunday, starting with this upcoming one, until completion.

Lastly, a special shoutout to the person who gave me this idea, she knows who she is! I hope this is as enjoyable as the past years have been, and it gets you ready for the 2024-2025 athletic year.
