Mustard will rap on a track for the first time on his upcoming studio album.

On Tuesday, June 25, Real 92.3's The Cruz Show posted a new interview with the "Not Like Us" producer. During the conversation, Mustard is asked if there's a song on Faith of a Mustard Seed that makes him emotional. He revealed one song on the album made him vulnerable because he raps at the end of the track, which he's never done before.

"It's a song on my album where I'm rapping at the end and that's the most vulnerable because I've never rapped or done anything like that."

Cruz mentioned that Mustard previously said that he would never rap on a track, but it looks like times have changed. The Grammy award-winning producer has dropped several albums and cooked up numerous top-charting hits but has never given fans a true glimpse into his life. He feels that his new verse will help fans see his perspective and provide more context behind what he's been through.

"I think that I've been behind the boards and beats for so long that nobody has ever heard my side of things as far as when it comes to anything — family or friends," Mustard explained. "I think it was just time."

The 34-year-old artist has been prepping fans for his upcoming project for the past few weeks. After he delivered the all-star trailer, Mustard dropped the first single "Parking Lot" featuring Travis Scott . He hasn't confirmed the exact release date, but he promised to drop the album this summer.

In a separate interview with Big Boy , Mustard shared that the late Nipsey Hussle gave him the idea for the title of his album. Nip told the producer to name his 2019 album Faith of a Mustard Seed while they recorded their previous collaboration "Perfect 10." Although he decided to go with Perfect 10 , Mustard never forgot that suggestion and used it for his forthcoming LP.
