Angel Reese is a star forward for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, and she's got the budding net worth to prove it. A rising star since her college days at Louisiana State University (LSU), she led the SEC in scoring and rebounding, and defeated the Caitlin Clark -led Hawkeyes to claim the championship in 2023.

After a recent win over Indiana (coincidentally, another match she’s played against Clark), Reese told ESPN , “I’m a dog. You can’t teach that. I’m gonna go out and do whatever it takes to win every single night. My teammates rely on my energy. So being able to continue the energy even if we’re down, even if we’re up, that’s what I do.”

Here’s a look at how much Reese has earned in her short basketball career and what her contract with Chicago is worth.

How did Angel Reese get her start?

At 6-foot-3, Reese has the height for pro basketball, but her family has given her more than just height. Her mom played basketball at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and went overseas to compete in Luxembourg. Her dad played college ball before moving to Europe to play in Cyprus, Austria, Luxembourg and Portugal.

Reese’s brother, Julian Reese, and cousin, Jordan Hawkins, also have ties to the sport.

So it’s understandable that Reese was on the court from a young age, leading her high school team to three championships and two conference titles and playing in the McDonald’s All-American Game.

Where did Angel Reese go to college?

Reese originally joined the University of Maryland in 2020 as the No. 2 player nationally in her class. However, after the team’s poor performance in consecutive March Madness tournaments she decided to transfer to LSU in 2022.

“I needed a fresh start,” Reese said to The New York Times . “A coach to push me to get me to the next level.”

The move clearly worked out for her, as she was with the LSU women’s team for its first national title in 2023 and finished that season second in defense and fifth in offensive stats. She also set an NCAA record with 34 double-doubles. At the time a sophomore, she was only eligible to join the WNBA draft in 2024, which is exactly what she did.

When did Angel Reese get drafted into the WNBA?

In a stacked 2024 draft class led by the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese was an unmistakable talent and was taken at No. 7 overall by the Chicago Sky.

“We are absolutely thrilled we were able to get Angel at seventh overall,” Jeff Pagliocca, the Chicago Sky’s general manager, said . “That was our hope. We have another incredibly competitive player in Chicago who fits our identity and culture of the city. She is a relentless rebounder, she is a national champion and an SEC Player of the Year and we cannot wait to see her here in Chi Town.”

What is Angel Reese's net worth in 2024?

Reese’s net worth isn’t widely reported on, as she’s only just begun her pro basketball career. However, just before the end of her college career her NIL (name, image and likeness) valuation increased to $1.8 million , and that seems to be around what her net worth is estimated at.

Distractify recently reported her net worth at $2 million , while other sites place it at $1.8 million , $1.3 million and $1.5 million .

What is Chicago Sky paying Angel Reese?

After drafting her at No. 7 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, the Chicago Sky signed Angel Reese to a four-year, $324,383 contract. The contract is structured so that each year she earns slightly more than the year previous, with the breakdown working like this:

    • 2024: $73,439
    • 2025: $74,909
    • 2026: $82,399
    • 2027: $93,636

What does Angel Reese make in endorsements?

Of course, professional athletes typically make much more than their salaries in endorsement money. Particularly WNBA players, whose salaries are substantially lower than their male counterparts in the NBA but who can still earn millions through sponsorships.

As a college player, Reese signed NIL deals with Reebok, PlayStation, Sports Illustrated, Amazon, Calvin Klein, JanSport and more. And according to USA Today , her 17 total deals in 2022 and 2023 were worth an estimated $1.7 million.

While not all of these deals are likely to follow her through her pro career, Reese has made it clear she’s still worth big endorsement bucks. "I want people to know the deals don't just stop in college," she told SportsCenter in May. "When you go to the pros, it continues. I feel like they've grown even more. Now that I'm a pro, I can do so much more."
