Eight women have won 50 or more singles matches at Wimbledon in the Open Era and four have reached the 90-win landmark.
Nine-time champion Martina Navratilova is the only woman to pass 100 wins at Wimbledon , while Serena Williams, Chris Evert and Steffi Graf are some of the other tennis icons to make the list.
Here, we look at the 10 players with the most women’s singles victories at Wimbledon in the Open Era.
=9. Lindsay Davenport – 49
Lindsay Davenport compiled a 49-11 record at Wimbledon, having made her debut in 1993 and her last appearance in 2008.
The American played at Wimbledon 13 times and secured the title in 1999, while she was also a runner-up in 2000 and 2005.
Virginia Wade won 56 matches at Wimbledon in the Open Era, having made her debut at the event in 1962 in the Amateur Era and her last appearance in 1985.
She played at Wimbledon 24 times in total and was the last British woman to triumph at the All England Club, having lifted the Venus Rosewater Dish in 1977.
6. Billie Jean King – 65
Billie Jean King made her Wimbledon debut in 1961 and finished her career with a 95-15 overall singles record at the event, with 65 of these victories coming in the Open Era.
The American made 21 appearances at Wimbledon in total and claimed six titles from the nine finals she reached, including four triumphs in 14 Open Era campaigns.
5. Steffi Graf – 74
Steffi Graf compiled a 74-7 record at Wimbledon, where she played for the first time (in the main draw) in 1984 and the last time in 1999.
The German played at Wimbledon on 14 occasions and secured seven titles, while she was also a runner-up twice.
4. Venus Williams – 90
Venus Williams holds a 90-19 Wimbledon match record, having made her debut at SW19 in 1997 and her most recent appearance in 2023.
The American has competed at the All England Club 24 times and has triumphed five times, while she has also been a finalist on four occasions.
3. Chris Evert – 96
Chris Evert accumulated a 96-15 record at Wimbledon, where she first competed in 1972 and last played in 1989.
The American made 19 appearances at the grass-court Major and collected three titles from the 10 championship matches she featured in.
Serena Williams finished her career with a 98-14 record at Wimbledon, having made her debut in 1998 and her final appearance in 2022.
The American played at Wimbledon on 21 occasions and is a seven-time champion, while she was also a runner-up four times.
1. Martina Navratilova – 120
Martina Navratilova amassed a 120-14 Wimbledon record, having first played at the All England Club in 1973, while she remarkably made her last singles appearance 31 years later in 2004.
The Czech-American featured at Wimbledon 23 times and claimed a record nine singles titles from the 12 finals she reached.
