(WTVO) — Illinois’ predicted warmer summer and average rainfall could bring an increased number of cockroaches, spiders and other insects, according to The Pest Dude .

Zachary Smith of The Pest Dude said these insects all come around because of humid warm conditions but dealing with them is pretty easy.

    Ants

The three best ways to deal with ants are to place bait and traps, seal entry points and maintain clean surfaces in your home.

    Cockroaches

One of the best treatments for cockroaches is to use traps and bait them in areas they frequent like kitchens, bathrooms and basements. Other ways would be to seal entry points like gaps around doors and windows, and keep clean dry environments.

    Centipedes

To handle centipedes in your home you can do a few things. You can reduce moisture, remove clutter and seal entry points to your house.

    Spiders

A good way to handle spiders is to reduce clutter to prevent them from hiding. Two other ways to deal with these insects are to seal entry points around your house and to use sticky traps.

    Houseflies

Proper food storage and cleanliness are two major contributors to making sure you avoid flies. If that does not work, you can also use UV light or sticky traps.

    Bed Bugs

The best way to get rid of bed bugs is to contact a professional, but regular inspection of your mattress and heat treatments can prevent them before they become a problem.

    Crickets

The common theme with lessening your bug annoyance does not stop here. Crickets are best dealt with by reducing moisture, sealing gaps around your home and trapping them.

    Silverfish

To finish, Silverfish also can be rid of by reducing humidity and sealing entry points, but if all else fails use sticky traps to take care of them.
