BALTIMORE — Construction zones on Interstate 95 in Cecil County will be monitored by Automated Speed Enforcement equipment beginning July 10, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration.

In conjunction with Maryland State Police Maryland SafeZones Automated Speed Enforcement, the Maryland Transportation Authority will deploy the equipment both north- and southbound around the Belvidere Road interchange.

For now, the fine for going above the 65 mile per hour speed limit is $80 but starting Jan. 1 Maryland will institute a tiered penalty system with fines up to $1,000.
