    Coroner IDs woman killed in Florence home explosion; multiple injured

    FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The Florence County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a woman killed Thursday in a house fire.

    The woman was identified as Ellen Boyce Greene, 50, of Florence.

    In the house fire, multiple people were injured. The fire occurred at 1905 Gilbert Drive in Florence at about 1:30PM. Florence County deputies said 8 people were in the home.

    Neighbors reported hearing an explosion and ran to the scene to render aid finding the home fully engulfed in flames. Greene was located by firefighters a short time later in a bedroom.

    The Florence Fire Department and Windy Hill Fire Department were on scene, as well as fire marshals. An autopsy has been scheduled for Greene at the Medical University of South Carolina for Saturday.
