FRIENDSHIP, Wis. -- A body was discovered on a property in Adams County Thursday during a separate investigation into a mother and adult son, who have not been heard from in days.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office Friday said it deemed the death suspicious.

According to a release from Sheriff Brent York, deputies were called to a home in the town of Strongs Prairie Thursday morning. A caller had told the office that they had not been able to contact Sharon K. Miller, 62, of Friendship for three days.

When deputies arrived at Sharon's home located in the town of Strongs Prairie, Sharon and her son, Jami L. Lumby, 37, were not there. The Sheriff's office said as deputies checked the property, they identified the ground was recently disturbed, consistent with digging or the burying of something on the property.

Following a search warrant, an unidentified adult body was located. The Sheriff's Office said an autopsy has not yet been performed and the circumstances around the death are still being investigated, but deemed suspicious.

Deputies are still looking for Sharon and Jami Miller. Anyone with information about Jami’s current location or has had recent contact with him or if anyone has had contact with Sharon since Monday June 24, 2024 is asked to contact the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at (877) 885-7786.
