There's nothing like having a baby to make you wistful for the days when you could just get in your car and drive off to your intended destination without having to worry about a small person screaming in the backseat the whole time. To be fair, some babies actually like going for rides in the car, but if your child doesn't fall into this category, the experience of running a simple errand can be super stressful.

In a hilarious video posted on June 27, one mom has found a genius way to keep her fussy baby happy in her car seat, and parents everywhere are going to want to try this out for themselves!

"When your baby hates the car seat but loves your face," wrote Jacquie Ciccone . That baby's smile was so precious! She clearly loves looking at her mom's face. Quite a few commenters wished they'd thought of this idea themselves.

"You mean I'm on baby #2 that screams the whole car ride and I haven't thought of this???" wrote MamaTG86.

"Where were all these genius ideas when mine was screaming his face off in the car?" wrote Megz.

"I wish I would have been smart enough to think of this. The only time my son cried was when he was in his car seat. He hated that thing," wrote phunkygroovin.

If you're trying to think of ways to keep your baby happy in their car seat , this trick might be worth a shot!

Why Do Babies Cry in the Car Seat?

It's completely normal (and understandable) for babies to fuss in the car seat , according to What to Expect. There are a number of different reasons why they might be unhappy.

First of all, they might be feeling overstimulated.

"Too much noise, movement or visual stimulation — which they might get when hopping around in a jumper or strapped into the backseat of a moving car — might be too intense for sensitive babies, making them upset and cry."

Another reason why babies get upset in car seats is because they're uncomfortable. They might not like the way the straps feel, or they might not like being constrained. Unfortunately, straps need to be secure for your baby to be safe, but you can make sure they're not cutting into your little one's skin.

Like the baby in this video, some little ones are upset in cars simply because they're lonely. After all, they're used to being with you or another caregiver most of the time. And that's when a visual aid like a giant photo of mom can apparently come in handy!
