CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — Looking to stay current on the coal industry? There’s an app for that!

The “Friends of Coal” app, created in partnership with America’s Coal Associations, launched Friday, June 28, and is available to download on both Apple and Android devices for free.

According to the WV Coal website , the app was designed in West Virginia and is interactive, educational, and designed to give users direct access to industry information, issues impacting the coal industry, social feeds, action alerts and more.

These will be the busiest 4th of July travel days in West Virginia

President and CEO of the West Virginia Coal Association Chris Hamilton hopes to see the app inform and educate people across the nation, saying “It’s a wonderful tool for coal supporters to communicate and engage on issues important to the mining industry and our local economies.”

Friends of Coal is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing a “united voice for an industry that has been and remains a critical national and global economic contributor.”

More information can be found on the WV Coal website or by calling Chris Hamilton at 304-342-4153.
