The Las Vegas Raiders boasts quite a few players who deserve more recognition, but who is the most underrated player on the team heading into the 2024 season?

Pro Football Network's Lorenzo Reyna believes safety Tre'Von Moehrig has gone under the radar and deserves more praise. Moehrig had a breakout 2023 campaign, snagging a career-high three interceptions and 20 defensive stops.

The former second-round pick was also a solid run defender, scoring a 73.4 run-defense grade from PFF and 83 combined tackles. The former TCU Horned Frog formed an intriguing duo with Marcus Epps on the backend of the Raiders' defense and started all 17 games for the second time in his three-year career.

Here is what Reyna had to say about Moehrig and his underappreciated 2023 season:

The 2021 second-round pick has become a cerebral, physical presence for the Raiders. But his coverage ability rose toward the end of 2023. Tre’Von Moehrig didn’t surrender anything past two completions or more than 14 yards on his side in the final six games. That includes the Christmas Day upset of the champion Chiefs, as he surrendered zero yards in coverage that day.

Entering a contract year, Moehrig will have to put together another impressive campaign to earn an extension and the recognition he deserves nationally.

The 25-year-old has all the tools and talent to be one of the better safeties in the NFL and still has room to improve. With Las Vegas' secondary being the weak spot of the defense, Moehrig will have to step his game up another notch this season and take on a potential leadership role.
