    Claim:

Gary Sinise is working with fellow actor Chuck Norris to build an all-veteran, "non-woke" film crew.

Labeled Satire ( About this rating? )

On June 20, 2024, the Facebook account America's Last Line of Defense (ALLOD) published a post featuring side-by-side images of actors Gary Sinise and Chuck Norris, with a caption claiming the two men were assembling an "all-veteran, non-woke" film crew because "Hollywood needs new blood":

    (America's Last Line Of Defense/Facebook)

At the time of this writing, the post had nearly 3,000 shares and 1,600 comments, with many of the commenters responding in a mix of disbelief and support at the apparent news.

"Gary Sinise is 69. Chuck Norris is 84. This is what they call 'new blood?'" wrote one commenter. "Always thought of Gary Sinise as a great patriot. Didn't realize that he was so thin-skinned as to resent people who have a different perspective on life. Many soldiers have been saved by other soldiers who may have been too woke for Gary. As for Chuck, he has an extreme need to be seen as all man with kickass qualities. It's suspiciously over the top," wrote another.

However, the ALLOD post was not a true account of real-world events and was intended to be satirical — that is, no evidence suggests that Sinise and Norris are joining forces to build an all-veteran, non-woke film crew, nor have any reputable news outlets covered this item. The ALLOD Facebook account describes its output as being satirical in nature, as follows:

The flagship of the ALLOD network of trollery. Nothing on this page is real.

Additionally, ALLOD labels its Facebook page as "Satire/Parody," and noted that an individual branded "Busta Troll" runs the account.

Although the two actors are not joining forces to create a "non-woke" film crew composed of veterans, they both share the commonality of vocally and actively supporting the U.S. military over the years.

Best known for his role as Lt. Dan Taylor in the 1994 Oscar-winning movie " Forrest Gump ," in 2011 Sinise founded the nonprofit Gary Sinise Foundation , which honors and serves veterans, first responders and their families through various programs. These initiatives include building specially adapted smart homes for wounded veterans, providing mental health support, and offering educational scholarships to children of fallen service members.

Martial artist and action movie star Norris enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1958 at age 18 and was deployed to South Korea. Through his involvement with the USO , Norris has remained connected to the military community for decades. Following his military service, Norris reportedly visited troops overseas , participated in events honoring service members, and supported organizations dedicated to veterans' welfare.

Snopes has frequently covered stories about Norris, including the satirical claim that he resigned as an "honorary scoutmaster" for Boy Scouts of America, and the false report that he attended a rally before the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021 .
