Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky made sure to celebrate his 40th birthday in style .

In a video posted to Instagram, the couple showed off just how lavish the occasion was, with the two and all guests invited decked out in cowboy attire. Of note, Gretzky - the daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky - was seen wearing a revealing leather outfit to go along with a black cowboy hat.

Meanwhile, the LIV Golf star opted to wear a more traditional cowboy outfit, spotted with jeans and a white button-down shirt to match the dark brown hat he wore. Johnson's attire was mirrored by the couple's two young sons, River and Tatum.

"Locals only," Johnson's caption on Instagram read. And as a whole, it appeared as if the festivities were plentiful with no shortage of entertainment available to partygoers.

Guests were treated to a beer pong with a view of the property they were on and guests were given an opportunity to select their beverage of choice, with each bottle specially labeled "Dustin's 40th" along with the type of drink beverage it was. Johnson and the rest of the attendees also were serenaded for the occasion, with Gretzky enjoying herself and singing along.

The 40-year-old was also treated to a tiered cake with sparklers on top for the celebration. Lastly, Johnson was treated to a fireworks display, with the video showing both Gretzky and Johnson taking in the show as a way to cap off the night.

While it appeared as if Johnson enjoyed his 40th birthday with those closest to him, golf fans did not seem to share the same sentiment. "LIV Laugh Love," one commenter said, which garnered over 200 likes, referencing Johnson's move to the Saudi Arabian-back circuit in 2022 for $150 million. Another aimed at Johnson's recent form. "Don't hold my boy DJ back," the post read. "He's got too much talent for only 2 majors."

Johnson's play as of late has left much to be desired . The former world No. 1 struggled mightily at LIV Golf Nashville , finishing 23 shots behind winner Tyrell Hatton. After starting the season with a win in Las Vegas, Johnson missed the cut at The Masters and the U.S. Open and finished tied for 43rd at the PGA Championship.

Because of his poor performances in the majors and the fact that LIV events are unsanctioned by the Official World Golf Ranking, Johnson has seen his ranking fall to 388. What's more, Johnson might lose his 4Aces teammate Pat Perez to the drop zone .

Perez was 28th at the conclusion of last season and was re-signed by Johnson to remain on the team. Still, Perez has struggled this season and has been thinking of a way to rebound after a tough showing thus far.

"I haven't played well really - it's not for - I don't really know why. I haven't put any less work in. I've actually worked just as much as I have my whole career," Perez said in Houston. "I just haven't really seen any scores, haven't really gotten on any streaks to get it going. Just as a team we haven't had low enough scores. With the caliber of players that are out there and the teams that are playing well, we just haven't matched them for three days."
