San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier told reporters that there are players he is targeting to draft at No. 33 but is willing to listen to trade offers.

Grier just completed a very successful first round of the 2024 NHL Draft, and when asked about his plan for the first pick in the second round tomorrow, he revealed he was open to moving it, but for the right deal.

"We'll be open to everything. Looking at our board, I think there are some players there that we really like, but as it goes, when teams kind of settle in and get back to the hotels, I'm sure we'll get some calls on 33," Grier said. "We'll listen if it makes sense for us to get more assets and continue to build this thing, but if not, there are some players available there that will be really happy to select."

When the Sharks acquired Jake Walman from the Detroit Red Wings, Grier had five picks within the first 60 picks, after the move with Buffalo to move to No. 11 that dropped back to two.

While having three second-round picks would be nice, San Jose capitalized on tonight's value with Macklin Celebrini and arguably stealing Sam Dickinson at 11.

Grier is just doing his due diligence by listening to offers. If he doesn't at least listen, then he isn't doing his job correctly.
