Victor Wembanyama working out with Jamal Crawford has gotten many people talking.

As a rookie, Wemby showed incredible handles for a 7'5" guy. With a playing style and skill set that redefines what a traditional seven-footer should be, spending time with one of the most gifted scorers of the 21st century to improve his handles and potentially his shooting stroke should help the Frenchman tremendously.

But while many like Wemby's choice to work with J-Crossover, former No.1 pick Kenyon Martin isn't a big fan of it.

"He's 7'5"; why he need that?" asked Martin on Gil's Arena. "Get you a** on the block. That extends your game. Get you big a** on the block. Go work with Tim Duncan. How about that? Daily, more. I just…. he's 7'5". Who he going by? "

    Wemby and Duncan working together?

After the Spurs drafted Wembanyama last year, it was reported they would bring Duncan , Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and David Robinson to work with him. However, we have yet to see videos of Wemby on the court with the Big Fundamental .

Having no video footage online doesn't necessarily mean he hasn't worked with Duncan yet. Or maybe the Spurs would rather keep things private since Duncan and Wemby don't like the exposure.

Still, K-Mart argued that even if he's worked with Timmy, other big men could add more to Wemby's game.

"There's a lot of people he could've went to seek knowledge from at this point and get to Jamal Crawford. Let's learn that bank shot. Let's learn to face a motherfu**** up and shoot this thing off the glass consistently," added Martin.

Wemby has developed a friendship with Crawford

Meanwhile, Crawford says working out with Wemby was unexpected. It came up after they developed a friendship at the 2024 NBA All-Star weekend when Jamal asked Victor if he could do a particular move .

"We go back to earlier this season when we had him on the show, and I asked him because he's been doing some crazy moves, so I asked him about if he could do this particular move, and he's like, 'Yeah, I've been doing it for years.' So we hooked up at All-Star Weekend, and I just showed him some freestyle moves, and from there, our relationship just took off," Crawford said on the Dan Patrick Show.

Kenyon is right about Wemby having to learn many more big-man moves. However, as Gil told him, Victor's style is different. He's like a guard or small forward trapped in a 7'5" body. So perhaps working out with Crawford is the way to go.
