    'A treasure trove of scenic beauty': Selfie stations placed at state's most iconic scenes

    Visitors of select state parks and nature preserves across Ohio will notice new selfie stations at iconic scenes.

    The selfie stations were unveiled this spring at 15 state parks and three state nature preserves, according to a news release provided Karina Cheung, an Ohio Department of Natural Resources spokesperson.

    "Ohio State Parks and State Nature Preserves are a treasure trove of scenic beauty, providing the perfect backdrop for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike," the news release states. "With a varied range of landscapes, from rolling hills and dense forests to tranquil lakes and cascading waterfalls, these parks offer an abundance of picturesque settings."

    Where can I take a selfie in Ohio parks?

    Ohioans can find the state's new selfie stations at the following locations:

    • Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve – The Grotto
    • Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve – Blackhand sandstone feature
    • Salt Fork State Park – Kennedy Stonehouse
    • Mohican State Park – Big Lyons Falls
    • Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park – Red Trail
    • Hocking Hills State Park – Ash Cave, Upper Falls, Cedar Falls
    • Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve – Amphitheater Falls
    • Marblehead Lighthouse State Park – Lighthouse
    • Kelleys Island State Park – Glacial grooves
    • Jesse Owens State Park – Big Muskie
    • South Bass Island State Park – Put-in-Bay Sign
    • Middle Bass Island State Park – Lonz tower in background
    • Caesar Creek State Park – Swinging bridge
    • Hueston Woods State Park – Covered bridge
    • Wingfoot State Park – Goodyear Blimp hangar in background
    • Headlands Beach State Park – On beach
    • Maumee Bay Island State Park – Lake walking path behind lodge

    Enter your selfie for a chance to win

    Guests are invited to enter photos taken from the new stations in a selfie challenge.

    "Snap a selfie at 10 different Ohio State Parks or State Nature Preserves selfie stations and email the photos to Will Armbruster at william.armbruster@dnr.ohio.gov," the news release reads. "The first 50 people to complete this challenge will have the chance to win a 75th anniversary Ohio State Parks passport and could be featured on ODNR social media platforms."

    The contest will run through late fall 2024, or until the 50-person limit is reached.
