Taylor Swift was 'desperate' for Prince William meet-up after Meghan Markle snub

Taylor Swift and Prince William had a sweet embrace behind the scenes during her Eras Tour stop-off in London.

However, it's claimed Taylor was the orchestrator of the event and it's said she was "desperate" to meet the prince. It wasn't the first time the duo had met as the the Shake It Off singer sang at Kensington Palace in 2013. William memorably joined her on stage with rock star Jon Bon Jovi during the performance.

This time they both took to social media to share the beaming snaps together with William's kids and Travis Kelce . Taylor wished the royal a happy 42nd birthday in her Instagram upload, which sent fans wild.

A source has since claimed Taylor had requested the meet-up. Speaking to Mail Online, an insider said: "Taylor Swift was keen to meet the Prince of Wales while she was in London. They already know each other, so the meeting made sense."

It comes after Taylor is said to have snubbed Meghan Markle's request to appear on her Archetypes podcast series. It's claimed the Duchess of Sussex had personally written to the singer to ask for her attendance, but was never able to make it happen.

In the 12-episode run, although Taylor didn't appear, Meghan spoke to the likes of Serena Williams.

Taylor's Eras Tour is continuing to be a huge success. On her last night in London until August, she welcomed partner Travis to the stage to help her perform a scene. Contributing to her performance of 'I Can Do It With A Broken Heart', Travis suited up and appeared to powder Taylor's nose while receiving a huge ovation from the crowd.

The couple are clearly huge supporters of each other's line of work and are always in the crowds when they'r performing. However, this marked the first time that they've come together live on stage at one of Taylor's shows.

Taylor attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game in Week 3 of the 2023 NFL season, which lead to fans speculating that their relationship was forming. She has since confirmed that they'd become close before then as she said: "By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date."
