Carol Burnett Has No Plans To Retire In Her 90s — Here’s What She Has Planned Next

Renowned comedienne Carol Burnett was recognized at TCL Chinese Center this week with a Hand and Footprint Ceremony for her impact on the entertainment industry so far. While relishing her newest achievement, Carol noted that she is very much around and has no plans to retire despite her age.

The 91-year-old, who currently plays Norma in the Apple+ series Palm Royale, added that she has fun on the job, hence her willingness to keep working. She expressed her excitement for the second season of the show, which is set to premiere soon.

Carol’s career so far has been a dream come true as she used to pass by the Chinese Theater as a child, admiring the handprints and footprints of celebrities before her. She also recalled stealing toilet paper from the venue’s restroom back when she would come to watch a movie with her grandmother.

She thanked her colleagues and loved ones for their support and presence while gushing about joining the league of famous people like Cher and Cyndi Lauper to earn this wholesome honor. Carol has previously been recognized for her prowess, taking home multiple awards such as multiple Emmys, Golden Globes, and Tonys.

Carol got into the spotlight in the late ‘60s as her show, The Carol Burnett Show, gained popularity. She expressed gratitude for the chance to meet and host hundreds of celebrities for over a decade, adding that she is open to working with the likes of Meryl Streep, George Clooney, and his brother Bradley.

Having turned 91 in April, Carol sure has some tips for aging gracefully, which includes going out and having fun. She also works out for thirty minutes a day and hardly follows a strict diet but controls her portions. The mother of three simply wants to be remembered for putting a smile on faces and making her fans happy.
