After her team’s tough loss to the Seattle Storm on Thursday night, Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark made a pretty tough admission.

When asked by a reporter what’s the best advice she’s gotten from one of the league’s veterans this season during a game, Clark responded with a smile and a laugh that “nobody gives me advice in games. I wish.”

That’s a tough reality for the Fever rookie, as it’s not at all out of practice for opposing veterans to provide young players some helpful pointers on the court as they try and grow their game.

While we haven’t a doubt that Clark’s veteran Fever teammates are supporting her through her WNBA transition on and off the court, Clark doesn’t appear to be getting much help at all from opposing veterans.

While competing against Clark when she’s playing is obviously their primary goal, you’d figure that at least some of the WNBA’s vets would at least offer her a little general help as a courtesy.

However, perhaps generational talents like Clark aren’t going to get that kind of treatment in the league. It’ll be up to her to glean the information she can and for her Fever teammates to help when needed.
