Kodak Black is doubling down on his attempted sober lifestyle! The Florida rapper recently got candid with fans about which lyric in his hit song ‘Super Gremlin’ he no longer supports.

For context, ‘Super Gremlin’ peaked at number three on Billboard’s Hot 100 in April 2022. A few months before, in January, the song claimed the number-one spot on Billboard’s Hot R&B/ Hip Hop Songs chart. It is reportedly certified platinum, per HipHopDX .

Now, more than two years later, he’s denouncing his mention of using Percocet in the three-minute track. The lyric goes like this: “I knew the Perc was fake, but I still ate it / ‘Cause I’m a gremlin.”

Here’s What Kodak Black Said About ‘Super Gremlin’

In a video shared by the X (formerly Twitter) account @omgmediaarchive, Kodak spoke to a live audience about his change of heart. He admitted to having second thoughts when he first wrote the lyric but proceeded with it anyway.

“It’s sad, though, bruh ’cause I’m like, ‘That sh*t gon’ park in the mind so quick,'” Black shared on the mic. “I’m like, ‘Damn, I don’t wanna say this sh*t, but I know this b**h gonna do it, homie.’ A n***a don’t play like that, bruh.”

He continued on, admitting that during his pill-popping days, he averaged “about 40 Percs a day” and sometimes up to a 100. “If I was f**king with that fake sh*t, I woulda been dead, homie,” he added.

“Explaining myself now, I don’t want y’all to hear that and take that and think it’s ok to do that sh*t, you hear me? Hell no,” he said towards the end of the clip.

Rapper’s Previous Comments On His Drug Use

Kodak Black spoke on his past use of Percocet in April via social media. At the time, he revealed that he’s never felt more “happy” after significantly slowing his intake of the drug. Though he admitted that he wasn’t yet anti-Perc, he said his low dosage was a surprise to himself.

Kodak Black isn’t the only celebrity who has recently pivoted to a drugless lifestyle. Earlier this month, Quando Rondo spoke out about spending the last eight months sober after battling drug addiction.
