Former Los Angeles Raiders defensive end Howie Long has only experienced Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift levels of fame one other time in his career, and that was when he played with sports legend Bo Jackson.

Some would argue Jackson is the greatest all-around athlete ever. He earned a Pro Bowl nod while playing for the Raiders and was also an MLB All-Star for the Kansas City Royals.

Those are two rare honors in two completely different sports. According to Long, who was Jackson's teammate with the Raiders, the level of popularity Jackson ascended to was Elvis-like.

"The closest I've come to superstar—crazy, crazy kind of popular," said Long, when appearing on ' Green Light with Chris Long'. "Bo Jackson was like playing with Elvis. We had to go in the back of the building. You had to have special security for him."

"In today's game, he would be the equivalent of Taylor Swift and Travis. He would be that big and that popular. Imagine a guy who could do what he did in today's world and roll out of the bed looking the way he did. Just an amazing character," he adds.

The blossoming relationship between Kelce and Swift has been playing out in front of NFL fans. NFL cameras often linger on Swift while she watched the Chiefs' games, and she even rushed the field after Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers.

Swift and Kelce have remained trending topics in sports.

However, imagine how popular a player like Jackson would have been in today's sports world. A player dominating in two professional sports still feels as impossible now as it likely did back then. Like Kelce and Swift, he would have been a constant trending topic.

It's for good reasons, too. Jackson's talent was truly unique, a game-changer that might never be replicated in the sports world.
