    Hey Guernsey County: Here's what you need to know to start your week

    NEW CONCORD — The New Concord Fireman’s Festival is scheduled for Saturday, July 13. The village is seeking volunteers to assist with various activities throughout the day. If you are interested in volunteering, email Heather Hughes at hmariehughes@gmail.com with your availability and any specific areas you would like to help with. Alternatively, you can sign up by contacting Nick Stelzer of the New Concord Fire Department.CAMBRIDGE — The Guernsey County Children Services board meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Children Services complex at 274 Highland Ave.

    CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge City School Board of Education will conduct a special school board meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Garfield Administrative Center School to take action on minutes, financial reports and recommendations, contracts and employment matters.  In addition, the board will conduct an Annual Records Commission meeting that will begin at 10:45 a.m.

    GUERNSEY COUNTY —The Guernsey County Commissioners recently voted to designate Richard L. Booth as Guernsey County Historian. There is no compensation for this position.

    NEW CONCORD — Youth baseball camp for ages 5-12 will take place July 8-10 at Mose Morehead Field at Muskingum University. All campers will participate in individual instruction, team-building drills, competitions, games, and more. Campers are asked to bring a baseball hat, cleats, tennis shoes, gloves, batting gloves, a helmet, a bat, lunch, snacks, a water bottle (water will be provided), and baseball pants.     ZANESVILLE — The Mid-East Career and Technology Centers Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. July 8 at the Zanesville Campus, 400 Richards Road.
