InFocus: Mercy Medical Center addiction services

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – For over a decade Massachusetts, and the rest of the country, have been dealing with an epidemic of opioid addiction and overdose deaths. Thousands of people have died in the state as a result.

But, the Massachusetts Department of Health has recently released a report showing a decline in opioid-related overdose deaths in the state.

This week on 22News InFocus we’ll be talking with Doctor Robert Roose, President of Mercy Medical Center and Johnson Memorial Hospital, about the report’s findings and Mercy’s recent grant funding award for their Addiction Counseling Services program.
