GHENT, WV (WVNS) – With the 4 th of July almost here, it may be a good idea to check up on your vehicle before hitting the road.

National Tire Safety Week started on Monday, June 24, 2024, and ends on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. One of the goals of the week is to highlight how essential it is to make sure your tires are ready to hit the road.

Well-child checkups are vital for keeping up to date with your kid’s health

Independence Day is one of the busiest travel days of the year. So, before you plan a road trip, let us find out what you need to look out for.

Brian Nowakowski, Store Manager for Discount Tire, said checking your tire air pressure is essential.

“Make sure there is no abrasions and nothing out of the ordinary. If you are going to be traveling, make sure your air pressure is solid before you take off.  The best way to track that is if you have a pencil gauge or on most vehicles it actually tells you on the dash with the tire sensors that are in them,” said Nowakowski to 59News.

Nowakowski explained that the most common tires to be effected are your back tires.
