Caitlin Clark's Pregame Exchange With Diana Taurasi is Turning Heads

Sunday afternoon's Fever-Mercury matchup is one of the most highly-anticipated regular-season games of the 2024 WNBA season — in large part due to the matchup between No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark and superstar veteran Diana Taurasi.

Earlier this year, Taurasi made headlines when she suggested Clark was in for a rude awakening at the WNBA level. Those comments sparked a ton of discussion and excitement for their first clash of the year.

Taurasi and Clark met at center court before tipoff on Sunday afternoon. The two WNBA superstars shared a quick embrace.

"That's somebody I grew up idolizing and looking up to and wanting to be like one day," Clark said when speaking to reporters on Saturday. "Obviously, she's one of the greatest players our game has ever seen, the greatest scorer our game has ever seen, so for me, I'm excited; that's fun. Kind of like a dream come true. You get to live out your dream while playing against the best."

It's clear these two players share a great deal of mutual respect.
