FILLMORE TWP. — One driver is dead and four passengers seriously injured after a sedan pulled into the path of a pickup truck in Fillmore Township on Sunday, June 30.

Allegan County Central Dispatch received a call for a serious crash at the intersection of 136th Avenue and 58th Street shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday. Preliminary investigation showed the sedan was traveling westbound on 136th Avenue when it failed to stop at 58th Street.

The sedan was struck by a pickup traveling northbound, which had the right of way. The sole occupant of the truck was uninjured, but there was five occupants in the sedan, including three children. The driver, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, and all four remaining passengers were transported to area hospitals with serious and life-threatening injuries.

It's unknown at this time if additional factors played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Allegan County Sheriff's Office.
