WALTON COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – On Sunday, Walton County Sheriff’s Office announced that four low-speed vehicles were towed off major thoroughfares in the county; U.S. 331 S and Hwy 98.

For our residents, low-speed vehicles are a huge point of frustration, WCSO officials said.

Officials said they are a public safety concern, not just for those in the low-speed vehicles but for everyone on our roadways.

    Tips for driving low-speed vehicles:

    • Do not drive an LSV on Hwy 98
    • All children must be in a car seat
    • Driver must have a valid license
    • No open containers
    • Must have a registration and insurance
    • Only accommodate as many passengers as you have seats. Six seats = six passengers

“We do not want anyone suffering serious injuries or worse while visiting Walton County. Knowing these rules of the road could save someone’s life,” WCSO officials wrote.

If you own a home in the south end of Walton County and provide an LSV as an amenity or own an LSV rental company these are the rules of the road: waltonso.org/lsv .
