Deputies: One hospitalized after shooting in Providence

PROVIDENCE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — One man was hospitalized after being shot in the left shoulder Sunday night around 9 in Providence. Deputies from the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Centerline Road around 9:02 p.m. Sunday.

Deputies say an investigation found a man forced entry into his father’s home on Centerline Road. The father had an order of protection against his son.

Deputies also say the son made threats to kill his father before entering and while inside the home. The father armed himself with a shotgun while his son attempted to enter the residence.

Deputies say the father shot a round inside the home after his son refused to leave and made more threats to kill him and his wife. The shot struck the son’s left shoulder.

He was taken to Albany Medical Center for evaluation and is currently in stable condition. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
