Two Kootenai County convicts wanted for walking away from prison

BOISE, Idaho -- Two women convicted of drug offenses in Kootenai County are wanted for leaving the corrections facility they were sentenced to.

According to the Idaho Department of Corrections, 37-year-old Sarah Zumwalt and 30-year-old Katy Buchanan were last seen Sunday, June 30 around 8:47 p.m. at the South Boise Women's Correctional Center.

Katy Buchanan is described as 5'5", 178 lbs, hazel eyes, and dark blonde hair. Her conviction was possession of a controlled substance and her sentenced was to be finished 2/23/2029.

Sarah Zumwalt is described as 4'11", 154 lbs., green eyes, and strawberry blonde hair. Her conviction also was possession of a controlled substance. Her sentenced was set to last until 2/29/2028.

Anyone with information on either woman's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
