    ‘Stuff the Bus’ fundraiser to provide SWVA students with school supplies

    ABINGDON, Va. (WJHL) — The United Way of Southwest Virginia announced on Monday the return of its “Stuff the Bus” fundraiser.

    The Stuff the Bus fundraiser aims to provide school supplies to students across Southwest Virginia.

    “We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed,” Megan Parks, Executive Director of United Way of Southwest Virginia said in a news release. “Our community has always been incredibly supportive, and we are confident that together, we can make a significant impact in the lives of our students.”

    School supplies can be dropped off at the following locations throughout Southwest Virginia:

    • Buchanan County – Food City (18765 Riverside Drive)
    • Bristol, Virginia – First Community Bank (148 North Main Street), (821 Commonwealth Avenue)
    • Dickenson County – First Community Bank (320 Chase Street)
    • Lee County – First US Bank (5499 Thomas Walker Road)
    • Russell County – Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Company (919 West Main Street)
    • Scott County – First Community Bank (135 West Jackson Street)
    • Smyth County – First Community Bank ( 1425 North Main Street)
    • Washington County – First Community Bank (271 West Main Street), (24412 Maringo Road), (506 Maple Street)
    • Wise County – Chamber of Commerce (765 Park Avenue NW)
