If you have dogs and you leave your house, ever, you're subject to a thorough sniff-spection immediately upon returning home. There's nothing you can say or do to get out of it, and if you just let your dogs sniff, they'll be done quickly.

On Wednesday, June 26th, a vet tech gave the internet a glimpse into what it's like coming home after a long day at work. Her dogs were thorough as ever, but today, they decided she failed:

    At the end she said “open the door or im gonna throw rocks through ur window u dumb wh…” 🧍🏻‍♀️ #dogsoftiktok #vettechlife #sniffspection #fails #fypシ゚viral #fypp #asmr #asmrsounds #americanbully

I know this is a pretty regular occurrence for @lingonza , but it never gets less funny. These pups were not having it!

There are two pups in this video: Katara, an American Bully, and Oreo, a Chihuahua/Japanese Chin mix. They generally get along pretty well, even despite their age gap; they play together, they nap together, and most important, they sniff mom together when she comes home from the vet clinic.

The pair have garnered Linette over 29,000 followers and 5.4 million total likes across all of her videos, and it's mainly because of the sniff-spections. Katara does some of them on her own, but the most suspicious ones require assistance from the supervisor: old man Oreo. Though we're not exactly sure what caused her to fail the sniff test on this day, it must've been pretty serious!

What Can Dogs Smell on Our Clothes?

Whenever you come home from anywhere, your dog is going to sniff you down. Scents from wherever we go will cling to our clothes; some of them, like the smell of a restaurant, a pet store, or a vet clinic, will be intriguing. Others, like the smell of outside or your non-dog-having neighbor's house, won't matter.

Dogs have a very keen sense of smell. They can detect weaker scents, but strong smells will get a bigger reaction out of them. You might notice your dog going crazy over certain smells on your clothes, like:

    1. Other dogs
    2. Cats
    3. Cooked meat
    4. Bodily fluids of any kind
      1. Sweat is a big one dogs love to sniff!

There's no harm in letting your dog sniff you out after you get home from somewhere as long as they don't get aggressive. Some dogs can get triggered by certain smells (particularly those of other dogs) and may growl at you, so it's safest to stay standing until you know how they're generally going to react.

Luckily for this vet tech, her pups are used to her smelling like other dogs, so they don't get aggressive about it. Even so, you best believe that she's sat for her sniff-spection every night regardless!
