    Berkeley County sheriff investigating after cars, apartments damaged by gunfire

    BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department (BCSD) said it is investigating a shooting on Sunday evening that left two vehicles and two apartment windows damaged.

    At around 7:10 p.m., BCSD received a call for shots fired at the Berkeley Gardens apartment complex off of US Route 11 North in Berkeley County.

    The caller told police someone was shooting in the area and hit the windshield of her vehicle. Police said that there were more calls from people who said that there was gunfire, and BCSD said that there was a “loud disturbance” in the background.

    Officers arrived on the scene and found two vehicles with gunfire damage along with two separate damaged apartment windows in building 145. Officers spoke with witnesses and learned the gunfire occurred after an alleged physical altercation between two men.

    Investigators found shell casings and bullet fragments at the scene. No one was injured.

    Investigators conducted interviews and identified a possible suspect. BCSD asked anyone with any information about the identity of a subject known as “Trama” to contact Deputy Giangola at 304-267-7000.
