    Crash shut down Route 23 in Sussex County near High Point State Park

    Route 23 was shut down for a time on Monday afternoon in Sussex County because of a crash, the state Department of Transportation posted on social media.

    The crash, which occurred at 3:45 p.m., happened just south of and involves a fuel spill, according to the DOT's 511nj.org. The highway was clear on the DOT's traffic site within a few hours.

    The New Jersey State Police stated there were no injuries in the crash.

    "Based on a preliminary investigation, a Ford F-450 pickup truck hauling a trailer with three vehicles lost directional control causing the trailer to overturn. Debris from the crash struck another passenger vehicle," Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron stated.

    The crash remains under investigation.
