    Two sentenced after luring Mississippi man to his death

    HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A Humphreys County duo has been sentenced in connection to a 2022 homicide.

    Prosecutors said Jaylen Winn and Santara Hall were found guilty of murder and conspiracy to commit murder on Friday, June 28, 2024.

    Witnesses testified that Hall and Winn lured Za-Quawn Byest outside of his home in 2022 before they shot and killed him. Hall was the cousin of the victim, who was only 19-years-old when he was killed.

    Winn and Hall were both sentenced to life in prison on the murder charge and 10 years in prison on the conspiracy to commit murder charge. Their sentences shall run concurrently, according to prosecutors.
