At least one injured after shooting in Warrick Co.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Warrick County Sheriff confirms a shooting occurred today on the 2800 block of Joellen that resulted in at least one hospitalization.

Warrick County Dispatch confirmed the initial call came in at 6:12 p.m. and that police were on the scene.

Eyewitness News was able to speak with Sheriff Walden about the incident who believes this was a “targeted” assault.

Sheriff Walden says upon arriving at the scene, witnesses were able to confirm that someone was shot. He says the victim had already been taken to the hospital and the alleged shooter had already left the scene.

Walden believes this incident occurred outdoors but is ruling out a drive-by shooting. He also believes that due to this being a “target” situation, the community should not be afraid of another possible attack. He believes that this may have been a robbery.

The victim is being interviewed by police at the hospital and no arrests have been made at this time.
