Brazil FIBA Olympic Qualifying schedule: Dates, times, rosters & how to watch 2024 tournament games

Brazil will be vying to become one of the 12 teams competing for gold at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. In order to do that, the South American powerhouse will need to win its way through the Latvia portion of the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

With eight teams already qualified for the Olympics, the OQTs represent a "last chance" qualification for the teams still hoping to get in. It won't be an easy ride for the Brazilians, though, as the Latvian portion of the tournament contains five other solid squads.

Big man Bruno Caboclo and his Brazilian teammates will attempt to surge past Nikola Vucevic and a strong Montenegro team in the group stage of the tournament. Then, the last Group B squad standing will likely have to face the home country of Latvia in the final round.

Davis Bertans and Latvia have gone 23-3 dating back to the 2023 FIBA World Cup European Pre-Qualifiers. Even without Kristaps Porzingis, who recently won an NBA title with the Celtics before undergoing surgery, the home country will be a very difficult out.

Interested in watching the Brazilians battle for a chance to make it to Paris? Let's get you prepped with Brazil's full schedule and roster for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

When are the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments?

    • Dates: Tuesday, July 2-Sunday, July 7

Each country participating in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQTs) will tip off with group play during the week. Then, the two top teams in each group will face off in the semifinals. The teams that advance past the semis will face each other in the final round, with the winner punching its ticket to the Paris Olympics.

Eight men's hoops teams have already qualified for the Olympics. The four OQTs serve as a "last chance" for other teams to qualify. The four winning teams of the OQTs — in Greece, Latvia, Puerto Rico and Spain — will join the eight teams already set to compete in Paris.
