American Bank names senior VP and COO

American Bank has promoted Sarah Westgate to senior vice president and COO, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Mark Jaindl said.

Westgate, formerly vice president and project manager, takes on the new role July 1 after Karina Behler retired.

Westgate joined American Bank in May 2002 first as a teller and personal banking representative at the Bank’s Tilghman Street branch, American Bank said in a statement.

She transitioned into a role within the Compliance Department where she held various positions including compliance and training specialist before becoming assistant operations officer. She has served in the role of vice president and project manager since 2021.

“The promotion of Sarah to our senior management team allows us to seamlessly transition this role to an individual with a strong skill set and the knowledge and background of American Bank that comes with her longevity within the organization,” Jaindl said.

“We look forward to seeing the contributions that Sarah will be able to make while in this position. We are also grateful for the significant contribution made by Karina while serving as our COO and wish her all the best in her future endeavors,” he added.
