Here’s how you can Stream to Serve to help WWP

From now through July 7, you can use your love of gaming to raise critical funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Capture the Flag is a weeklong livestreaming event that kicks off July 1 at 12 p.m. ET.

“This is the fifth year we’ve offered Capture the Flag,” said WWP’s Livestream Fundraising and Gaming Manager Jackie Green. “It’s just an incredible, exciting, unique way to stand behind a cause without the traditional fundraising elements you might see.”

Green said the event coincides with July 4 for an important reason.

“There’s so much patriotism surrounding the Fourth of July we thought this is a natural way for us to highlight warriors and the significance of the holiday,” she said.

Livestreaming will occur at multiple times during each day of the event.

“We have content creators that are also streaming on Wounded Warrior Project’s Twitch channel,” Green added.

According to WWP, 50 percent of today’s warriors report living with two or more invisible wounds like post-traumatic stress disorder anxiety and depression.

Green said the event brings people of all ages together to help wounded warriors.

“One of the things about Wounded Warrior Project is we try to have the entire family in this together with our warrior,” she said. “It’s a very low-barrier way to get help. If we can get someone involved in their passion, whether that’s gaming or streaming, we can at least make that initial contact with them so that when they do ask for help it’s so much easier.”
