"His cadence, his pace. It's remarkable" - JuJu Watkins explains why she models her game after Paul George

Women's basketball is on the rise, and one young star in the game right now is JuJu Watkins . In her first year at USC, Watkins posted some big numbers (27.1 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 3.3 APG, 40.1 FG%) as she led her team to the Elite Eight of the women's March Madness tournament.

Even though she has a few more years in college, JuJU is one of the brightest stars in the game. Her playstyle looks similar to several stars in both the men's and women's sectors. When it comes to who she models her game after most, though, Watkins gave an interesting answer.

    JuJu shouts out PG

The 6'2'' guard had a ton of hype surrounding her before she even made it to college, and once she took the court for the Trojans, she proved the hype was real. Despite not having a great supporting cast, Watkins guided USC all the way to the Elite Eight, where they ended up losing to UConn.

There isn't much JuJu can't do on the court, as she is a lethal scorer who attacks the glass and is a versatile defender. In a way, she's very similar to NBA superstar Paul George , which is why she tries to model her game after him.

"I want it to resemble Paul George," the USC Trojan said via Yahoo! Sports . "I had the chance to talk to him, just about his cadence, his pace. It's remarkable what he's able to do on the court, and I want to replicate that more."

JuJu and Paul have very similar games

This is an awesome answer from Watkins because her playstyle is very similar to that of George. "PG-13" has been one of the most lethal scorers in the NBA for over a decade now, turning himself into an elite defender along the way.

In a lot of ways, the newest 76er plays the game the way JuJu wants to play. She knows that she can score at will, but giving it your all on defense is a big part of success in basketball, too. That's good news for Watkins, who averaged 2.3 steals and 1.6 blocks per game last season.

George has been in the news quite a bit as of late, as he recently opted to leave the Los Angeles Clippers to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency. Now, he will try to earn that ever-elusive championship before his career eventually comes to a close.

Watkins will be hoping to make a deeper run with USC in March Madness next year, but as long as she's on the court, her team will have a chance to win. Both of these stars will be taking on new challenges next season, and it will be worth keeping an eye on them to see how they fare.
