    I-24 West reopens near Rutherford County line after deadly rollover crash, victim identified

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has identified the driver killed in the crash that closed a portion of Interstate 24 in Davidson County Tuesday morning.

    The crash happened in the westbound lanes near the Old Hickory Boulevard exit at the Rutherford County line just after 7:30 a.m.

    At least four vehicles were involved in the crash, including one which overturned and came to a stop against the median wall. Metro police reported at least one man was killed in the crash.

    In a press release, MNPD identified the driver as 39-year-old Daniel Roberts of Murfreesboro.

    The roadway fully reopened to traffic around 11:30 a.m. Motorists were diverted off the interstate at the Waldron Road exit.

    MNPD added that the preliminary investigation indicated that three vehicles were stopped in heavy traffic Dodge Ram pickup truck did not stop, striking the rear of a Toyota Solara. Roberts had been driving that Solara.

    The 27-year-old driver of the Ram refused medical treatment at the scene. The press release stated that he did not show signs of impairment, though he may have been distracted. A decision on charges is pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
