Manchester United have signed Netherlands international Dominique Janssen from VfL Wolfsburg on a two-year deal until the end of the 2026-27 season with an option for a further year, the English club confirmed on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old returns to the Women's Super League (WSL) following a four-year stint with Arsenal between 2015-2019, during which time she won the WSL title, League Cup, and FA Cup. She subsequently joined Wolfsburg, and won the Frauen Bundesliga title twice and the DFB Pokal three times.

"I'm delighted to be at such a big club like Manchester United. Signing here is a really proud moment for me, and I cannot wait to now return to the English league and create new winning moments with this talented Manchester United team," Janssen said.

At international level, Janssen has won 112 caps for the Netherlands and was part of the 2017 Euros winning squad.

United manager Marc Skinner said: "Dominique is a proven winner, both domestically and internationally. Her winning mentality is an important addition to our team, and her notable playing experience will enhance our entire dressing room. We are delighted to welcome Dominique into our Manchester United family."

Janssen is United's first signing of the summer transfer window which opened last week and follows the departures of goalkeeper Mary Earps , Lucía García and captain Katie Zelem .

England England goalkeeper Earps joined Paris Saint-Germain , while García opted for a move to Liga MX Champions Rayadas de Monterrey.
