The Reds have welcomed back their Under-21s, Under-18s and returning loanees for pre-season testing, with the first team due to follow suit on Friday. On the same day, Arne Slot will host his inaugural press conference after taking over from Jurgen Klopp in May.
However, not all of Slot's inherited squad will be available from Friday, as 11 players are still participating in Euro 2024 or Copa America. Despite the fact many will be missing, Slot and co. have gained a greater idea of when players will be back after seeing how far they have progressed so far in their respective tournaments.
Andy Robertson , Dominik Szoboszlai and Vitezslav Jaros were knocked out of Euro 2024 last week, and given Liverpool's tradition of granting their internationals a three-week holiday, they're likely to return to the AXA Training Centre in mid-July.
Wataru Endo is expected to be excused from Olympics duty, following Mohamed Salah and Stefan Bajcetic, meaning Slot won't face any further disruptions to Liverpool's pre-season preparations. The trio will join the senior group reporting back later this week, alongside Curtis Jones , Harvey Elliott , Kostas Tsimikas, Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah and Conor Bradley.
Returning loanees Fabio Carvalho, Nat Phillips, Owen Beck, Sepp van den Berg and Tyler Morton are also set to join the group, although some may have already reported back at the start of the week, reports the Liverpool Echo .
Rhys Williams, now 23, could also be in the mix for the first team, despite spending the latter half of last season with the Under-21s after returning from loan spells at Aberdeen and Port Vale. Similarly, Billy Koumetio is no longer eligible as an Under-21 player, and it remains to be seen how much attention Slot will pay to the Frenchman following his half-season loan at Blackburn Rovers.
Ben Doak, who missed both the second half of the season and Euro 2024 due to injury, was back at the AXA Training Centre on Monday, eager to shake off his injury woes and prove his worth to Slot's new regime.
He won't be the only young Red with first-team experience reporting back for pre-season, given the number of youngsters who earned their stripes under Jurgen Klopp. With Slot known for his successful work with young players, several are expected to join the first team under the Dutchman's guidance later this week.
Bobby Clark, Luke Chambers, Calum Scanlon, Kaide Gordon, James McConnell, Lewis Koumas, Jayden Danns and Trey Nyoni all had a taste of first-team action last season. Having initially reported back with the Under-21s and Under-18s, they'll be keen to make their mark on the new regime.
Similarly, there will be a host of young talents eager to make an impression this week, with the first team's return and potential elevation into Slot's pre-season squad on the horizon.
