Garner and Affleck split in 2018 but remained friends, and Garner is now helping Affleck get through his marital struggles with Lopez in 2024. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck maintained a friendship after their divorce in 2018. The couple has three children, and they see each other regularly as Affleck navigates the bumps in his marriage to Jennifer Lopez in 2024. Garner and Affleck kept their relationship as private as possible. However, Garner once discussed Affleck’s incredible physique when he played Batman in 2016.

Garner discussed her then-husband on Live With Kelly and Mark with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. She said she saw Affleck in his Batman costume “lots,” but he didn’t wear it home.

“It takes a team to get it off,” she said. “If we were in the heat of passion, I would be like, let me get a chainsaw. I don’t know how to get it off!”

Garner revealed more about Affleck’s physique at the time. “He has gained 30 pounds of muscle, and he’s 8% body fat,” she said.

“He looks pretty good,” Garner continued. “It’s a little bit like, woah, who are you? It feels like I’m having an affair. But, I don’t mind! I’m not complaining.”

Ben Affleck knew audiences expected him to ‘look’ a certain way as Batman

Ben Affleck knew he had to bulk up for his role as Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and subsequent films. He spoke to Men’s Journal about meeting the audience’s expectations regarding his physique.

“I knew that a big part of the audience’s expectation around the role would be how I looked physically,” Affleck told the publication. “And that was something I had some control over. If I was going to fail in this role, I wasn’t going to let it be in a way that could have been prevented if I had worked harder.”

Affleck’s incredible musculature for the role was achieved with help from trainer Walter Norton Jr. of the Institute of Performance and Fitness. Based in Boston, Norton flew out weekly to meet with Affleck.

“Getting ready for this role meant working hard, day in and day out, with Walter,” Affleck added. “But it was the kind of work where I felt gains in not only my size but also my mental and physical health.”

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck aren’t married anymore. However, they stayed close, both physically and emotionally. Additionally, Affleck lives near Garner, as he’s staying in a $100,000 monthly rental near her home.

“Jennifer Garner is encouraging Ben to work on his marriage to Jen,” a source told Us Weekly. “She fully supports their relationship and wants nothing more than for him to be happy.”

It’s unclear what Lopez thinks of Affleck’s close friendship with Garner. Some sources alleged that Lopez dislikes how Affleck confides in Garner, but others claim that Lopez and Garner have a mutual respect and love for each other, mainly because their kids are close.
