Walker has worked in Stitt’s administration as counselor to Secretary of State Josh Cockroft and as deputy counsel for Stitt.

Stitt said in a statement that Walker has been a valued member of his policy and legal team since 2020.

“Character and culture are essential in leadership and I can’t think of a better person to help pursue our vision of being a top ten state,” Stitt said.

Walker shared a similar sentiment to Stitt in the statement. He said he was looking forward to working with Stitt toward his “top ten state” vision.

“Being asked to serve as Governor Stitt’s new chief of staff is a privilege I won’t take for granted,” Walker said.

Prior to his time in Stitt’s administration, Walker has worked as a middle-school teacher, campus minister and a research assistant for the Texas House of Representatives.

Walker will start in his new role Aug. 1.
