    July 5 deadline for ballot initiatives

    FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Ballot initiatives have to turn over signatures to the Arkansas attorney general by July 5. Six ballot amendments require 90,704 and one state statute has 72,563 signatures.

    Ballot measures for Arkansas 2024

    The ballot signatures have to be verified by Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston. Signatures have to be collected from 50 of the state’s 75 counties. Signers have to be registered voters.

    The six Arkansas ballot amendments are:

    1. Medical Marijuana Expansion Initiative
    2. Right to Abortion Initiative
    3. Absentee Voting Restrictions Initiative
    4. Right to Government Transparency Initiative
    5. School Standards and State Education Obligations Initiative

    The only state statute that could change state sales tax on feminine hygiene products and diapers.

    1. Exepemt feminine hygiene products and diapers from the sales tax initiative or “Tampon Tax”
