DAVIS, Ill. (WTVO) — A 62-year-old man was arrested Sunday after police said he beat his neighbor, and then went back to his own yard and fired three gunshots in the air.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. in the 18000 block of Rock Grove Road, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Kevin J. Moore, who was charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Criminal Trespass to Property, and Battery.

Moore was granted pretrial release on Tuesday and is due to appear in court for his arraignment on July 30th, 2024.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article repeated police statements saying Moore went into his neighbor’s house prior to the attack. Authorities later revised that detail, clarifying that Moore did not enter the neighbor’s house.
